Strategies for Making Your Marketing Stand Out in Today's World

People are inundated with advertisements from pretty much the moment they are born.
Thanks to the internet, people are targeted with even more ads now. There are email
ads, browser ads, promoted social media posts and ads played before videos. As such,
most people have tried to filter out marketing efforts completely. In fact, people are so
used to ignoring marketing that 89 percent of advertisements go unnoticed completely.

Overall, marketing is in some ways a lot tougher than it was in years past. If you want
your advertisements to be noticed by consumers, you need to rethink your strategies.
With this in mind, below are some tips on how to develop marketing that manages to
stick out and grab the attention of consumers.

Target a Niche

With so many products and so much marketing, standing out in the crowd can certainly
be a challenge. One thing you might want to consider is targeting a niche. One of the
reason why companies have trouble breaking through with their marketing is because
the demand for those products are already being met by competitors that in some cases
have been at it for decades or even a hundred years.

However, if you target a niche these companies have ignored, you may be able to carve
out market share regardless due to the unmet demand. Many companies, for example,
target seniors specifically. Think of the Jitter Bug phone that was used to target seniors that
have vision and hearing problems and had trouble using regular cell phones. If you can find
an unmet niche, you can use your marketing to reach those consumers.

Go Viral

One category of marketing that is certainly growing is viral marketing. While it’s no longer
new per say, it is still fresh enough that using it can make an impact for your company,
product and brand in a way traditional ads will fail to. The reason why viral is so novel is
because it uses the consumers themselves to spread your marketing for you thorough things
like re-Tweets, re-posts and re-blogs. It in essence works the same way word of mouth does
but through the digital realm of social media.

One of the best things about viral marketing is it’s free. Facebook may have 2.2 billion active
users, but it’s absolutely free to set up an account and post marketing materials. If your posts
go viral and reach thousands or millions, you won’t have to pay for that either. Going viral,
though, is the tricky part. It’s more of an art than a science and requires marketing in a way
that doesn’t come off as traditional advertising.

Implement Omnichannel Marketing

Something else you may want to consider is omnichannel marketing. However,
what is omnichannel? Omnichannel refers to the combination of multiple channels
to create a more integrated experience for the customer. Omnichannel marketing accepts
the fact that many consumers use different means to purchase products.

This can include brick and mortar stores, phone sales, sales through a website, purchases
made through an app and even purchases made through contact via social media.
Omnichannel marketing attempts to make the process of making purchases through any of
these channels as seamless and consistent as possible.

Use Content Marketing

Consumers, especially millennials, have become very resistant to most forms of advertising.
One way to work around this impediment is by producing advertising that doesn’t seem like
an ad. Instead of only informing consumers of a product, it also supplies value via useful or
entertaining content. This can include things like blog articles, entertaining videos, recipes,
video games, fiction and a whole lot more.

Creating marketing that stands out can be difficult with the amount of advertising people
are confronted with every single day. Try to think outside the box so you can find an approach
that works for your company. There are probably many novel marketing strategies you haven’t
even considered.
